This is a re-implementation and partial re-design of the 1984 text adventure L: A Mathemagical Adventure, which was created by the late Richard Phillips, supported by colleagues from the Association of the Teachers of Mathematics (ATM), who also published it. Although aiming to be entertaining, L was primarily developed to encourage an interest in mathematics among 10-14 year olds. At that time, it was envisaged that the game would be played by groups of pupils in school, with teachers on hand to give basic guidance and encouragement. A hint system has been introduced in this updated version, but playing this game by yourself is still likely to be a challenge for those of any age! Feel free to ask for further hints. An epilogue, providing additional background information, is available to those who complete the game.

Loved this - have been trying to find it for years as never completed the first time round. A couple of the maths problems were very tricky for me (I have no patience) and the author assisted with finding one of the keys :)
Very addictive though - and wish I hadn't completed it as I miss it!

Great remake of an older game. Lots of new twists and some great improvements. A lot of fun for those who like to deal with math or who want to have a break from the typical text adventure games. Good idea to take notes as you go. Fun game for those who want to spark the interest in math in their students or might want to test their own skills.
Not to worry if any of the problems become to troublesome you can find answers searching the internet or by contacting the author. He was of tremendous help to me, giving me hints in the right direction.
