Hall Two Room One

In my sophomore year at the National University of Singapore, I stayed with my faculty-mate named Ben. His main interest was theatre although teachers always told him that he had a talent for opera. The walls were thin, and his last night acting and rehearsals would keep me up late. After a month or so of lost sleep, I convinced him to rehearse at the Multi-Purpose Areas at the ground floor of our dormitory block.
Around 8pm one evening, Ben announced that he would be staying up late for an upcoming performance and probably wouldn't be home until around midnight.
"Great!", I thought to myself, as it meant that I could finally go to bed early. As I was getting hungrier, I wanted to cook up a light meal before I hit the bed.
